where's the gigs: beth orton, goldfrapp and more

Beth Orton has announced a one-off date with The Magic Numbers at London’s Queen Elizabeth Hall where she will play the whole of her debut album, Trailer Park, for the first time ever. The gig is part of a series of shows celebrating 18 years of the Heavenly Recordings label, and also to celebrate the expanded reissue of Orton’s 1996 album complete with a bonus disc of B-sides. Tickets cost £20 and go on sale to the general public tomorrow, but Southbank Centre members can buy them now. Other artists taking part in the series include Saint Etienne, Dot Allison and recent signing Jaymay.

But wait, there’s more. It was announced today that Kimmie Rhodes will join her longtime friend Emmylou Harris as the opening act for her September tour. Kimmie will be over in the UK promoting her new single ‘I’ve Been Loved By You’, with the previously unreleased B-side ‘Love & Happiness For You’ co-written with Emmylou and sung with Willie Nelson, from her umpteenth album Walls Fall Down.
