‘Tis the season to be voting

For the last 3 years Wears The Trousers has dutifully compiled year-end best-ofs that go against the grain of most other music press listmakers, and this year we’re bringing it back to our readers with our most comprehensive polls yet…

We like the Fleet Foxes, Bon Iver and Sigur Rós albums as much as the next person, but they’re already clogging up the top 10 lists of music writers everywhere, and there’s precious little room for the ladies we love. Out of the potential 40 top 10 places in the already published lists of Q, Uncut, Mojo and Paste magazines, only 4 female/female-fronted acts have won one of those prestigious slots: Duffy, She & Him, Lucinda Williams and Portishead.

This is your chance to make your voice heard and redress the gender imbalance once more as Wears The Trousers prepares to bring you its 2008 yearbook issue at the end of the month. You have until midnight on December 9th to vote in all polls.
