Mute Records have just confirmed on Twitter that Goldfrapp will release their fifth album Head First on March 23. Fans anxious to see what direction they’ve taken after the pastoral surprise of 2008’s Seventh Tree will have to wait a while yet as first single ‘Rockets’ isn’t released until March 8, according to Popjustice.
Writing on the band’s blog a couple of weeks ago, Alison Goldfrapp wrote that she and musical partner Will Gregory have relocated from London to the West Country to finish work on the album, which she expects to have completed just after Christmas. The artwork for the album has already been photographed and the band are shopping around for a video director who’ll do ‘Rockets’ justice.
