[Wichita; April 5]
The long-awaited debut album from immensely lovable trio Peggy Sue finally lands on April 5. Recorded in Rosa and Katy’s hometown of Brighton, with extra studio stints in Brooklyn and London, Fossils & Other Phantoms features the production talents of Blood Red Shoes’ Steve Ansell, Ben Lovett of Mumford & Sons, Two Gallants’ Alex Newport and The Dodos’ John Askew. The album is preceded by the single, ‘Watchman’, on March 22.
Says Katy, “Most of the album is about endings in one way or another, the title refers to both the absences and remnants of those endings and the empty spaces in the artwork reflect this theme.”
Fans wanting to get hold of the album early will have the chance to get it at a discount price at Peggy Sue’s headline show at London venue The Garage on March 29. A ‘gig + album’ bundle costs just £14, with regular ol’ tickets retailing at £8.50. Bargain.
