mountain man visit dublin’s iveagh gardens

When US folk trio Mountain Man visited Dublin at the beginning of the month to make their Irish debut at the city’s Crawdaddy venue, music website State.ie took Molly, Alexandra and Amelia to the beautiful Iveagh Gardens (which last week hosted major headline shows by Paloma Faith and Tori Amos, among others) to film a short live a cappella session. The typically unpredictable Irish weather, however, had other ideas:

“Our plan [...] seemed a splendid idea when we arrived to find the sun splitting the trees and the park full of sunbathers and happy, playing children. Fast forward an hour and we’re in the middle of a torrential downpour. Thankfully shelter was found and [Mountain Man] played a beautiful and intimate show for some hardy State souls.”

The four songs taped included ‘Mouthwings’, ‘Arabella’ and ‘Animal Tracks’ from their debut album Made The Harbor [review], plus a new, untitled track.
